Our assignment was to take portraits of each other. We watched a film about Richard Avedon. When he took his portraits he would like to catch real, raw emotion that was not posed and fake. He also used only a white background, only back and white and not very dramatic lighting. We mimicked all these things when taking our photos. We also only took square photos from the shoulders and up. When we took our portraits we asked each other questions that would provoke emotions.
